Job summary

Koch Foods, Inc. is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to design, implement, and manage SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments across development, test, and production.

The role emphasizes high availability, secure configurations, and reliable backups to support business applications and reporting. You will work with developers and engineers to optimize queries, implement disaster recovery, and enforce data governance, encryption, and auditing.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
• 1--3+ years of hands-on DBA experience in SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency with security, encryption, and auditing.
• Ability to optimize queries, indexes, and configurations.
• Experience with backup, restore, and DR planning.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL instances across environments.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and tune queries and indexes.
• Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Manage database security, access provisioning, encryption, and auditing.
• Plan migrations and patches with minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with developers on schema design and data modeling.
• Implement high-availability and replication solutions.
• Document architecture, procedures, and DR plans.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting languages.
• Capacity-plan storage, memory, and compute resources.
• Stay current with new database technologies and patches.
