Job summary

ATC in Wisconsin seeks a hands-on Database Administrator to support Microsoft SQL Server across on-premises and Azure platforms. You will ensure health, availability and performance of critical databases, with proactive monitoring and continuous improvement.

The role requires 1–3 years in a DBA position, strong SQL Server/T-SQL skills, and experience with migrations, security, backups and disaster recovery. Excellent collaboration and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of progressively responsible experience in a dedicated Database Administrator role.
• Strong expertise with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Experience with SQL Server installations, Azure SQL deployments, database maintenance and database access security.
• Demonstrated capability in performance monitoring, capacity planning, backup and recovery, and fault-tolerance planning.
• Experience planning database migrations and troubleshooting production database issues.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support multiple Microsoft SQL Server instances across on-premises and Azure SQL environments.
• Proactively monitor database health, performance and capacity, addressing potential issues before they disrupt production.
• Manage database maintenance, access security, backup and recovery, and fault-tolerance practices.
• Troubleshoot production database issues and partner with application and infrastructure teams to drive resolution.
• Plan and execute database migrations while helping ensure stability and continuity.
• Translate logical data designs into effective physical database designs and develop databases that support new applications.
• Support disaster recovery planning and testing for business-critical database environments.
• Establish and reinforce database standards, controls, documentation and best practices.
• Provide database design consultation to application teams throughout development and deployment.
• Work within established Change, Incident and Release Management processes when supporting production environments.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, including off-hours support, for critical database needs.

We are looking for a Database Administrator to help support and strengthen our Microsoft SQL Server environment across both on-premises and Azure platforms. This is an opportunity to play an important role in the health, availability and performance of databases that support critical business operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

In this role, you’ll combine day-to-day database administration with forward-looking planning and improvement. You’ll:

• · Administer and support multiple Microsoft SQL Server instances across on-premises and Azure SQL environments.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

You’ll be successful in this role if you combine strong technical depth with a proactive, collaborative approach. Ideally, you’ll bring:

• · 1-3 years of progressively responsible experience in a dedicated Database Administrator role.
• · Strong expertise with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
• · Experience with SQL Server installations, Azure SQL deployments, database maintenance and database access security.
• · Demonstrated capability in performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, backup and recovery, and fault-tolerance planning.
• · Experience planning database migrations and troubleshooting production database issues.
• · Knowledge of physical database design, database modeling and application database development.
• · Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing in environments where database availability is business critical.
• · Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• · A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related discipline is preferred.

The targeted base pay for this position is $96,000 to $112,000 annually.* Base pay is one component of our comprehensive total rewards package which includes:
