Job summary

Biogensys is seeking a Database Administrator in Tallahassee, FL to manage DB2 for z/OS along with SQL Server and Oracle databases. The role requires strong mainframe tooling, DB2 performance management, and DR planning, onsite in Tallahassee.

The ideal candidate has extensive z/OS experience, JCL, ISPF, CICS and RACF knowledge with a focus on production reliability and enterprise data integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Hands-on experience with DB2 for z/OS administration and performance management.
• Experience with z/OS utilities and COBOL-based environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer DB2 for z/OS, Oracle DB and SQL Server databases.
• Maintain performance, tuning and disaster recovery readiness.
• Coordinate with mainframe and infrastructure teams for changes.

Job description

We are hiring a Database Administrator for one of our clients in Tallahassee, FL.

Job Description:

• DB2 for z/OS
• SQL Server 2008R2, 2012
• Oracle 10g and above
• Experience with the state client integrated database infrastructure is a plus.
• Knowledge of the Financial Management applications is a plus.
• Knowledge of the integrated application environment is a plus
• Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS application integration, performance management and data base administration
• Advanced knowledge of upgrading DB2 for z/OS
• Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS catalog maintenance
• Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS sub-system point in time recovery
• Advanced knowledge of JCL
• In depth knowledge of the z/OS integrated platform
• In depth knowledge of CA GEN model management and application object support
• In depth knowledge of ISPF
• In depth knowledge of the ASG Scheduler
• In depth knowledge of COBOL
• In depth knowledge of the use and interpretation of DB2 for z/OS database monitoring tools
• In depth knowledge of the use and interpretation of z/OS software monitoring tools
• In depth knowledge of technical infrastructure implementation planning and coordinating
• Solid working knowledge of z/OS started task creation and management
• Solid working knowledge of IBI z/OS service support
