Job Title: Database Administrator

Job Type: Contract (Thru 6/30/27 with likelihood of extension)
Overview
We’re seeking anAdvanced Database Administrator (DBA)to support enterprise database platforms and ensure database architectures, schemas, and data structures align with established standards and security requirements. This role focuses onday-to-day production operations,performance monitoring/tuning,database design, andsupporting application enhancements and rewritesacross multiple database technologies, including relational and spatial/GIS databases.
Key Responsibilities
- Performdaily operational database administrationactivities in a production enterprise environment.
- Plan, design, implement, and supportdatabase structures (schemas, tables, indexes, storage, etc.) to meet system requirements and standards.
- Conductdatabase performance monitoring and tuning, including troubleshooting and remediation of production issues.
- Assist in thedesign, development, optimization, and amendmentof database schemas and related structures.
- Develop and maintainDBA procedures and technical documentation.
- PerformSQL code reviewsand help enforce database standards and best practices.
- Supportdatabase work for application enhancements and rewrites, partnering with project and data stakeholders.
- Providetraining/mentoringto other technical staff as needed.
- Contribute to an overalldata architectureapproach that supports organizational needs and security standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree inComputer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5+ yearsof combined experience in database administration across required platforms.
- Strong experience with:
- Microsoft SQL Server (2012 and above)(expert level)
- Oracle (10g and above)
- GIS/spatial databases, including knowledge ofESRI SDE geodatabases
- Demonstrated ability toindependently analyze, evaluate, and resolvecomplex enterprise production database issues.
- Strong understanding ofrelational database principles, design, and operational best practices.
- Experience preparingcomplex database specificationsand designing relational databases.
- Ability to interpret and communicate technical information clearlyboth verbally and in writing.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience withAzure SQL
- Experience withAWS database/SQL tools
- Experience managingArcGIS for Server
