Job summary

MANTECH seeks a motivated Database Administrator to join our team in Key West, FL. You will support design, implementation, and maintenance of complex PostgreSQL systems with a focus on high availability and security.

You will mentor junior admins and lead performance tuning and disaster recovery initiatives, collaborating with developers and business analysts on data models and migration strategies. Active TS/SCI clearance is required for the position.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of PostgreSQL database administration experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Math/Engineering; substitution rules apply.
• IAT Level II DoD certification (DoD 8140.01).

Responsibilities

• Collaborates on and supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex database systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, and robust security.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Junior and Mid-Level Administrators in advanced database technologies, architecture and design principles.
• Lead complex performance tuning initiatives, optimize database configurations for peak performance, and implement comprehensive Disaster Recovery Plans to ensure business continuity and data resilience.
• Collaborate with Application Developers, Architects, and Business Analysts to design and implement efficient data models, advanced database solutions, and data migration strategies.
• Contribute to the development and enforcement of stringent database security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Database Administrator to join our team in Key West, FL.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Collaborates on and supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex database systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, and robust security

• Provide guidance and mentorship to Junior and Mid-Level Administrators in advanced database technologies, architecture and design principles.

• Lead complex performance tuning initiatives, optimize database configurations for peak performance, and implement comprehensive Disaster Recovery Plans to ensure business continuity and data resilience

• Collaborate with Application Developers, Architects, and Business Analysts to design and implement efficient data models, advanced database solutions, and data migration strategies

• Contribute to the development and enforcement of stringent database security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study, for example Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or Engineering.

• A bachelor’s degree can be substituted for a High School Diploma and Four (4) years of additional relevant experience or an Associate’s Degree and Two (2) years of additional relevant experience.

• Five (5) or more years of experience in PostgreSQL Database Administration with a proven track record of successfully managing and maintaining database systems.

• DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II certification.

• Extensive experience in Linux and/or RedHat.

• Experience in cloud architecture with technologies such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.

• Experience working with Geospatial Data (e.g. PostGIS, etc.)

• Experience working with automation frameworks (e.g. Ansible, Satellite, etc.)

• Knowledge of NoSQL databases and their applications. Experience with database automation and scripting, data integration, and ETL processes.

• Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must possess active TS/SCI clearance.

Physical Requirements:

• The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
