Required five years of DBMS administration experience, a bachelor's degree in IT/CS/IS or related field, and knowledge of both Windows and Linux environments.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience administering DBMS software.
  • Experience with relational DBMS software and vendor-specific certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain enterprise databases for critical operations.
  • Organize, archive, and maintain data structures in MSSQL and Oracle.
  • Ensure availability, reliability, capacity, and efficient utilization of database resources.

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to manage andmaintainMSSQL and Oracle databases supporting critical utility operations. This isan important positionthat helps keep EWEB running.

As a Database Administrator at EWEB, you willbe responsible forensuring database performance, security, availability, and scalability across diverse environments.Additionalresponsibilities include implementing backup and recovery strategies,optimizingqueries, and supporting application teams. This role plays a key part in sustaining the integrity of enterprise data systems for a mission-critical public utility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, developandmaintainenterprisedatabases including creating data structures and conceptual models to meet business requirements.
  • Organize, analyze, archive, andmaintaindata and data structuresin Microsoft SQL and Oracle database systems.
  • Ensure availability, reliability, capacity, and effectiveutilizationof database resources.
  • Install, test,update and troubleshoot databases and dataintegrationsusingindustry standard toolsand techniques.
  • Identifyand resolve database, application integration, and system performance issues.
  • Providesupport to developers, application administrators, and vendors asappropriate.
  • Ensure data security,backup, recovery, andcontinuity of service for databases.
  • Create andmaintainconfiguration documents and work as a team to supportoperations.
  • Consult with technical business users to understand their requirements for data management and translate those into trackable tasks forIT teams to execute.

Location: This positionis based in Eugene, Oregon; ithas been approved as a hybrid work arrangement involving a combination of telecommuting and working onsite. The selected candidate must live in the state of Oregon.

The starting annual salary for this position is $117,325.02to$146,656.28 commensuratewith knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position.

Please Note: The base pay offered will beestablishedbased on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge and skills, relevant experience, and internal equity. Consistent with EWEB’s compensation philosophy, it is not customary to place individuals at the high end of the salary range at the time of hire. Compensation decisions are made holistically to support fair, consistent, andequitablepay practices,taking into accountthe specific circumstances of each position and candidate.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, InformationSystemsor closely related field from an accredited college, which includes course work in computer concepts, technical writing, software tools, and workstation environment.

Licenses/Certifications: None.

Experience: Five years of progressively responsible experience in administering database management system software. Experience using and administering relational database management system software.

Recommended: Database vendor-based DBA certifications,networkand storage experience.Experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows operating systems.Project Management skills as well as experience with vendor and contract relationships management.
