General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a Principal Database Analyst to lead enterprise MS SQL services on client sites. You will design, administer, and optimize database environments, ensuring security, reliability, and performance.
This role requires a strong background in database design, system analysis, ETL, and Windows Server support, with DoD certifications preferred and US citizenship.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Database Manager you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on Database Manager joining our team to administer, operate, and maintain enterprise Microsoft (MS) SQL services in support of managed, or approved, systems. Support includes, but is not limited to, database clustering, database management, security, performance analysis, backup and restoration, and Microsoft Windows Server operating system support.
Manages the development of data base projects.
Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
Applies knowledge of API (Application Programing Interface) for data services and databases.
Defines database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation.
Designs and implements databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates, installs and administers database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management.
Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.
May provide technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a database environment.
Prepares and delivers presentations on data base management systems (DBMS) concepts.
Plans and budgets staff and data base resources. When necessary, reallocates resources to maximize benefits.
May provide daily supervision and direction to support staff.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Required Certifications: DoWD 8570.01 IAT-II (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE), Windows Server Administrator certification
TESA eligibility/certification required.
