Base pay range

$113,000.00/yr - $139,000.00/yr

Overview

The Data Warehouse Engineer is responsible for building, optimizing, and scaling enterprise-grade data platforms. This position works with the Enterprise Data, Intelligence, and AI Platform teams to drive and maintain scalable data warehousing solutions.

Essential Functions

• Designs, Builds, and maintains scalable ETL pipelines and data warehousing solutions using primarily Microsoft BI and Azure data stack
• Analyzes complex data sources and pipelines; performs source-to-target mapping and optimization
• Provides development for existing systems; troubleshoots data and/or system issues, building and extending toolsets
• Contributes to data and governance and quality assurance practices across systems including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle
• Collaborates with analysts and business stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making
• Participates in Agile development and peer code reviews
• Mentors’ other developers and analysts
• Drives on-going evolution, improvement, and automation of data warehouse solutions
• Maintains strict confidentiality
• Performs other duties and/or tasks as assigned

Skills

• Experience with Azure Data Factory or other cloud ETL platforms
• Experience with Databricks, PySpark, SparksSQL, and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP preferred
• Excellent scripting skills in Python or Shell preferred
• Familiarity with DevSecOps and CI/CD tools similar to Docker and Jenkins preferred
• Exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and integrity

Required Qualification and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
• 7-10 years of experience in data warehousing, ETL, and database development
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
• Understanding of dimensional modeling, data governance, and performance tuning
• Travel required up to 5% of the time

Physical Demands

• Must be able to communicate verbally and written
• Must be able to read from a screen
• Must be mobile within an office space to access file cabinets, office and/or computer equipment
• Must be able to sit for 7+ hours a day
• Must be able to operate a vehicle for 3+ hours
• Must be able to travel by air for 8+ hours
