Responsibilities
- Collaborate in design of data architectures; translate data so that it can be read by various types of computer systems.
- Collaborate in designs and building of databases that are used in relation with data architectures.
- Collaborate in the development of strategies for data acquisition.
- Partner with development teams and DBAs to understand data management and governance protocols, manage the information lifecycle, design infrastructure and data integration controls.
- Understand business strategy and cascade business intelligence needs to the database level.
- Maintain advanced models and logical database designs.
- Write and maintain advanced SQL scripts.
- Analyze and report the performance of database operations against key database performance metrics.

Core Technical Competencies
- High level knowledge of SQL.
- Advanced experience with ETL (in particular SSIS) and application-related integrations.
- Knowledge of design, development and maintenance of various data models and their components.
- Experience with data modeling and schema.
- Experience and understanding of common programming design patterns and best practices.
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot issues.
- Ability to translate business requirements into system functional and non‑functional solutions.
- Experience with business and system process flow techniques using UML (Use Case Diagrams, Activity Diagrams, Entity Relationship Diagrams).
- Experience with automating DBA tasks.
- Knowledge of Web Service / Web API technology.
- Understanding of BI tools and technologies and optimization of underlying databases.
- Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile).
- Experience using Oracle SOA Suite is a plus.
- Experience with an ERP implementation is a plus.
Work Experience
5–7+ years experience in database/data warehouse development.
Education / Training
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required (Proven experience can substitute for degree).
Software & Technology
- SQL Server
- SSIS
- Oracle SOA Suite (Desirable)
