Job summary

DBM Global Inc. is seeking a Database Administrator to contribute to and maintain databases supporting data warehouses, web-based applications, and client/server systems. You will partner with DBAs and developers to build scalable data solutions and ensure performance aligns with SLAs.

Responsibilities include designing data architectures, developing data acquisition strategies, and implementing governance controls while translating business needs into database design and BI outcomes.

Job description

As the Database Administrator at DBM Global, you'll be responsible for contributing and maintaining databases in support of data warehouses, web-based applications, as well as client server applications by using requirements analysis and design techniques. Partner with other DBAs and/or Developers to write and maintain databases according to specifications. The Database Administrator will partner with technical groups to ensure that database performance standards adhere to service level agreements set with the enterprise.

Core Technical Competencies
  • High level knowledge of SQL
  • Advanced experience with ETL (in particular SSIS) and application related integrations
  • Knowledge of the design, development and maintenance of various data models and their components.
  • Experience with data modeling and schema
  • Experience and understanding using common programming design patterns and best practices.
  • Ability to debug and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into system functional and non-functional solutions.
  • Experience with using business and system process flow techniques using UML (e.g. Use Case Diagrams, Activity Diagrams, Entity Relationship Diagrams)
  • Experience with automating DBA tasks
  • Knowledge of Web Service / Web API technology
  • Understands BI tools and technologies as well as the optimization of underlying databases.
  • Experience of software development lifecycle methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Iterative, Agile)
  • Experience using Oracle SOA Suite is a plus.
  • Experience with an ERP implementation a plus.
Work Experience
  • 5-7+ years experience in database/data warehouse development.
Education/Training
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required (Proven experience can substitute for degree requirement).
