Job summary

Planet designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites. The Data Visualization Team within Marketing Crafts visuals that translate Planet data for customers and prospects.

You will blend imagery with datasets, using creative and technical skills to educate and inform diverse audiences. The role is full-time and hybrid, requiring office presence in San Francisco three days a week.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in relevant technical roles, preferably with geospatial/remote sensing data
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Ability to meet tight deadlines in a dynamic, client-driven environment
• Experience communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Knowledge of remote sensing data use cases and data visualization best practices
• Experience with core geospatial software and libraries
• Experience programming with Python to analyze geospatial data and APIs
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)

Responsibilities

• Find and tell stories showcasing novel Planet data applications; combine imagery with other datasets
• Collaborate with Marketing to understand audiences and create graphics
• Provide technical feedback on marketing content to ensure accurate data representation
• Coordinate with media and external partners to share imagery under tight deadlines
• Promote best practices for data visualization within the organization
