Job summary

iCapital is seeking a detail-oriented Analyst or Associate to join the Strategic Transformation team in Salt Lake City. You will own root-cause investigations of production data issues, contribute to ETL pipeline development, and act as the primary liaison between Fund Finance operations and engineering.

This role will help define requirements, drive data quality initiatives, and build tooling and dashboards for real-time visibility into exceptions and resolution status.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a business analyst, data support, or application support role within financial services
• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS, analytics, finance, or related field
• Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and root-cause diagnostics
• Structured root-cause analysis with cross-functional coordination
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with private equity, hedge funds, or alt investments and data
• Familiar with ETL, data ingestion patterns, or workflow automation
• Experience writing Jira tickets or structured requirements for engineering
• Exposure to AI-assisted tooling or automation frameworks and Python is a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform root-cause analysis of production data issues using SQL, collaborating with engineering and operations to drive resolution
• Support and contribute to ETL pipeline development across the lifecycle
• Serve as liaison between fund administrators, business groups, and technology to manage data exceptions
• Define, scope, and implement data projects with product managers and engineers
• Develop exception management tools and dashboards to prioritize issue resolution
• Define business and technical requirement documents for engineering teams
• Understand end-to-end data flows and downstream impacts on Fund Finance processes
• Write test cases and perform UAT before production deployment
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual intervention in recurring data workflows
• Document operational knowledge to enable scaling beyond individual expertise
