Job summary

Harvey Nash is seeking a Data Test Engineer to join the client's Data Test team. You will help validate data quality across pipelines and platform operations in a hybrid Chicago/Peoria setting.

Responsibilities include test design, defect analysis, and collaboration with Data Engineering and Data Stewards to reduce production risk. AWS/Azure and Spring Boot are preferred, with 1–2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in software testing and/or development; HS diploma required; higher degrees preferred.
• Strong Java skills including debugging and OOP concepts.
• Basic SQL/database knowledge.
• Experience with Spring Boot and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) preferred.
• Data testing and root-cause analysis experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute test cases to validate data quality and business rules.
• Support daily testing of data pipelines and platform operations.
• Identify defects, perform root-cause analysis, and fix validation.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Stewards to improve data quality.
• Participate in feature testing and UAT activities.
