The University of Oklahoma is seeking a Data Technician to track metrics for the Graduate College. The position involves data gathering, reporting, and developing processes for various data needs to help inform strategic decisions. Candidates should possess a high school diploma and related experience in data management.
The Data Technician will track metrics for business needs within the Graduate College. To gauge the College’s performance against strategic benchmarks, the data technician will develop new processes for monitoring and reporting research articles published by graduate students; external, competitive research fellowships awarded to students and postdoctoral fellows; training grants; immediate and long-term alumni career outcomes; and the impact of graduate education on research funding to the campus. Each of these benchmarks will require gathering, combining, and cross-validating data from multiple sources, maintaining datasets, and creating reports with high validity. Finally, as a position devoted to data needs within the Graduate College, the Data Technician will implement new processes to enable the Graduate College to more efficiently respond to data requests and proactively manage data in support of institutional goals, data requests from other colleges, and Graduate College contributions to the University.
