Job Description

OU Office of Admissions & Recruitment (OAR) works to bring in the next generation of Sooners. Our team operates from Norman as well as across the state, nation and world. We provide support to incoming domestic and international freshman and transfer students as they navigate the college application and decision process. Additionally, we partner with parents, counselors, and communities in providing resources to students interested in higher education. Our goal is to build a vibrant community with limitless potential by recruiting the most academically qualified students with a variety of educational, service, involvement and community experiences.

Scope Of Position/Essential Duties

  • Receive and organize supporting application materials submitted to the Office of Admissions & Recruitment (OAR).
  • Digitize and classify supporting documentation in admissions CRM.
  • Assign supporting documentation to student records.
  • Apply chain of custody policy to properly classify official documentation.
  • Procure documents from partnering higher education document vendors.
  • Reach out to applicants in order to communicate application status and procure required documentation.
  • Reach out to high school officials in order to communicate application status and procure required documentation.
  • Perform data entry of GPA and test scores from supporting application materials.
  • Perform recalculation of GPA if an anomaly is discovered.
  • Perform calculation of non-standard GPA if supporting materials do not conform to expected norms.
  • Perform calculation of Scholarship GPA from supporting application materials.
  • Assess applicants Academic Rigor, contributing a key component to the Holistic evaluation process employed by OAR.
  • Collaborate with recruitment staff to assist with the planning, preparation, and execution of OAR recruitment events.
  • Participate in professional development conferences and activities.
  • Conduct outreach initiatives to applicants and high schools to increase application completion.
  • Use CRM to search for duplicate student and organization records, and designate for merging.
  • Perform transcript evaluation to assess transferable undergraduate credits to the University of Oklahoma
  • Perform related duties as assigned
  • Retrieves, collects, reviews, and interprets data requests from faculty and staff
  • Creates and prepares reports, including data retrievals from different data sources.
  • Produces graphs, charts, and other documents.
  • Updates and maintains data and databases.
  • Meets with various entities to realize new processes for data collection.
  • Formulates techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data.
  • Ensures secure storage of data.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED., AND:

  • 12 months of data collection, data entry, or related experience.

  • Ability to effectively evaluate projects, programs and produce comprehensive reports

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time doing work on a computer and via the telephone.
  • Must be able to pull, push, lift, engage in repetitive motions, speak, including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others; see, including color, depth perception and clarity; and hear, including receiving detailed information orally.
