Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking an Associate, Data & Technology in Seattle to build, deploy, and support trade software systems, analytical tools, and scalable trading engine infrastructure.

You will partner with trading, sales, operations, and senior management to analyze data, run complex calculations, and propose technical solutions. This role requires heavy SQL/Python work, DevOps practices, and cloud skills, with hybrid telecommuting up to 2 days weekly.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Technical Entrepreneurship & Management or related field.
• 2 years of experience in the position offered or as Associate, Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or related occupation.
• Writing and interpreting queries using SQL and Python.
• Supporting a 24x7 technical production environment with robust incident response for data integrity and compliance.
• Implementing DevOps practices/tools including Octopus, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Developing scripts/automation with Bash, Terraform, GitHub and Docker.
• Orchestrating data pipelines with Apache NiFi and Apache Airflow.
• Working with cloud platforms/services including Snowflake and AWS (S3, IAM, Athena, SNS, EC2).
• Administering Linux/UNIX operating systems; ensuring security and access controls.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and support trade software systems and analytical tools.
• Collaborate with trading, sales, operations, and management to resolve system issues in the trade lifecycle.
• Analyze large data sets and implement complex mathematical calculations.
• Use statistics and ML tools to analyze market data and identify trading/operational improvements.
• Propose changes in trading systems based on data analysis and simulations.
