Job summary

Cal Alumni Association is seeking a Student Assistant to help manage alumni engagement data. You will gain hands-on experience with data processing in a university setting, reporting to the Senior Data Analyst in the Marketing and Communications Department.

The role is ideal for undergraduates in data science or statistics, offering 10 hours/week, a flexible hybrid schedule, and a California-based remote option. Start date is ASAP and background/privacy training is required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in relevant undergraduate program (e.g., Data Science, Statistics)
• Familiarity with Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Workspace
• Optional experience or interest in learning Google Apps Script
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Must complete campus-required data privacy and security training
• Must respect data privacy and security laws and procedures

• Clean and standardize incoming alumni engagement data
• Process and upload alumni data according to CAA processes
• Participate in weekly check-ins and assist with various tasks as needed
