Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines integrating clinical encounters, screenings, operations data, and referrals.
  • Support QA/QI protocols for mobile units and community health hubs, including monitoring KPIs and preparing analytic materials.
  • Develop dashboards (Power BI, Tableau) and visualizations for internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate with partners to translate data into actionable recommendations to optimize routes, schedules, and staffing.

Education

Bachelor's degree, preferably Master's-level training (completed or in progress) in Business Analytics, Public Health, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Job description

This role will help design and operationalize data infrastructure, implement performance measurement frameworks, and support continuous quality improvement (CQI) for The Family Van and The Mobile Health Map platform.

Data & Impact Analytics for The Family Van

Perform in-depth analysis of:

  • Visit volume, patterns of utilization across sites.
  • Community-specific needs and outcomes (e.g., comparison of blood pressure readings across sites, variation in client volume and outcomes by day, location, or weather such as extreme heat, cold, or rain).
  • Distinguish new vs. returning clients across regular stops vs. community sites and events, documenting return rates and visit frequency to demonstrate impact.
  • Break down total screenings by type.
  • Quantify and track referrals (e.g., number, type, destination, follow-up where available).
  • Produce regular summary tables, visualizations, and brief reports to inform outreach strategy, scheduling, and resource allocation, drawing on models from other mobile clinics' impact reports where appropriate.
Mobile Health Map Database Strengthening & Visualization
  • Improve MHM's data quality, coverage, and integration with relevant public datasets.
  • Analyze and visualize data to support an annual impact report and strategic communications for external audiences (e.g., policymakers, funders, partners).
  • Help increase participation by mobile clinics in MHM, including supporting onboarding, data submission, and relationship-building with key partners.
  • Contribute to tools and analytic insights that position mobile clinics, especially rural units, as essential providers in the U.S. health system.
Data Infrastructure, Analytics & Systems Integration
  • Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines integrating clinical encounters, screenings, operations (scheduling, locations, utilization), and referral/care coordination data.
  • Support integration with EMRs and the Health Networks (DHIN) to enable secure, high-quality data exchange and continuity of care (non-HIPAA data).
  • Build and document structured datasets and data models to power the Mobile Health Performance Dashboard and related analytic tools.
  • Apply and help enforce data governance standards.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Conduct quantitative and statistical analyses to identify trends in access, utilization, and outcomes, support evaluation and reporting, and inform deployment strategies and resource allocation.
  • Support geospatial analyses (e.g., SVI, HPSA, transportation access, local health indicators) and map healthcare/community assets to identify service gaps and guide strategic deployment of mobile health services.
  • Support QA/QI protocols for mobile units and community health hubs, including monitoring key performance indicators and preparing analytic materials and visualizations for partner review and learning sessions.
  • Collaborate with staff and local partners to translate data into actionable recommendations that optimize routes, schedules, staffing, workflows, and coordination with referral partners, strengthening impact among underserved populations.
  • Package analytic approaches, tools, and lessons from state initiatives for use in other states and health systems; contribute to reports, slide decks, toolkits, SOPs, and documentation.
  • Support presentations in webinars, convenings, and conferences to share findings and best practices in mobile healthcare and data-driven decision-making.
  • Work closely with MHM leadership, technical teams, state implementers, health systems, community-based organizations, and public agencies.
  • Bring a health equity and lived-experience lens to analysis and recommendations, ensuring data work elevates community voice and advances equitable access to care.
  • Model collaborative, culturally responsive engagement with diverse communities and partners.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 5 + years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Public Health, Business Analytics, or a related field. Higher education may count toward experience.
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably Master's-level training (completed or in progress) in Business Analytics, Public Health, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; ability to interpret complex datasets and translate them into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
  • Proven experience improving processes and systems through data-driven decision-making (e.g., quality management, process optimization, operations research).
  • Excellent communication skills-written, visual, and verbal-with the ability to work effectively across disciplines and organizations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health equity, access to care, and/or social impact, with the ability to apply an equity lens to analysis and recommendations.
