Job summary

Cherry Bekaert seeks a Data Strategy and Business Analytics Director to lead management reporting and firmwide analytics. You will guide a data analytics team within IT, ensure dashboards align with source data, and work with FP&A on monthly financial reporting to service lines and leadership bodies.

The role requires a CPA, 10 years in accounting/analytics, and strong BI, Excel, and communication skills to influence multiple stakeholders and drive data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• 10 years of progressive experience in public accounting, financial reporting or management reporting and analytics.
• Active CPA license.
• Audit experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of financial accounting and financial statement analysis in a professional services firm.
• Translating business questions into reporting requirements and validating output.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership to team including coaching, mentoring and professional development or oversight to a department.
• Engages IT data analytics team to develop, review and deploy dashboards firmwide, including defining requirements and validating calculations.
• Ensures dashboard output reconciles to source systems and that data definitions are documented and repeatable.
• Collaborates with FP&A to deliver monthly financial reporting to service lines, Finance Committee and Board.
• Establishes firmwide definitions and data standards for performance metrics across lines and departments.
• Advises leaders on interpretation of results and identifies trends and matters needing attention.
• Prioritizes reporting and analytics portfolio with Chief Data Officer, balancing routine and new requests.
• Applies accounting and audit knowledge to evaluate data quality and control over reporting.
• Communicates with internal clients to meet objectives for all parties.
• Participates in priority projects and strengthens cross-functional relationships.
• Exercises discretion with confidential information.
