Job summary

Pacific Life is seeking a Data Steward to join the Institutional Division Business Insights team in Newport Beach, CA; Omaha, NE; or Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on data coordination, governance, and accuracy across business use cases, with a team of eight in the division.

You will lead data-driven initiatives, ensuring data integrity and efficient data operations. The role emphasizes data management, architecture, and collaboration with IT for product deployment and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• Expertise in data management, data governance, data architecture solutions and data development life cycle.
• Proficiency in SQL, databases, data lakes, data visualization tools, scripting languages (e.g., Python, R), and data management platforms. Experience with Snowflake is a plus.
• Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex data and solve problems effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration and conveying technical concepts.
• Project management experience in prioritization, timelines, and stakeholder coordination.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with data management trends.

Responsibilities

• Data Coordination & Integration: Coordinating and prioritizing data changes across departments and integrating data with IT systems.
• Support & Implementation: Developing requirements for Data/IT to implement new products for administration, valuation, reporting, and product monitoring.
• Quality Assurance & Governance: Deploying validation checks and data cleansing; establishing controls and QA processes with Data/IT.
• Analysis & Insights: Performing exploratory data analysis and providing insights to business users.
• Documentation & Training: Creating comprehensive documentation of data processes for division and enterprise users.
