Job summary

National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) seeks a Data Manager to oversee the Inventory & Monitoring data program for Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Gatlinburg. The role focuses on designing and administering data systems that support natural resource management and decision making.

The Data Manager collaborates with park staff, GIS specialists, and scientists to ensure data integrity and compliance with FGDC standards, while coordinating national datasets and reporting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of laws, regulations, and NPS policies guiding natural resource management.
• Experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and SharePoint.
• Experience with data management and GIS integration.

Responsibilities

• Directs complex data management activities for the Inventory & Monitoring program.
• Designs, develops, and manages database systems for long-term data maintenance.
• Coordinates and oversees data population for national I&M datasets.
• Develops short- and long-range data management plans and standards.
• Provides technical assistance and training on data management to park staff.
• Manages project deliverables and prepares accomplishment reports as needed.
