Job summary

SFE in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Data Solutions Lead to design and implement scalable data architectures for P&C insurance, migrating legacy systems to cloud platforms.

You will collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, claims, and IT to translate business requirements into robust data solutions and mentor engineers. Experience with AWS Glue, Snowflake, ETL/ELT, Python, Spark, Informatica and Datastage is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud data platforms and data solutions for insurance.
• Hands-on design of ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehousing.
• Proficient in Python, Spark, Informatica, Datastage, AWS Glue, Snowflake.
• Led hands-on modernization of data platforms and cloud migrations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure data architecture for P&C insurance.
• Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, claims, and IT to translate requirements into data solutions.
• Evaluate tools, run PoCs, and propose tech options to the client.
• Lead modernization of legacy systems and migrate to cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
• Define data integration strategies across internal systems and third-party providers.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor data engineers and analysts.
• Drive AI adoption within the data team and identify new feature use cases.

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

• Experience with cloud data platforms ( AWS Glue, Snowflake).
• Proficiency in ETL/ELT design, and data warehousing, data modeling
• Hands-on experience with Python, Spark, Informatica, Datastage, AWS Glue, Snowflake
• Must have led hands on experience with modern data platforms.
• Well versed with Gen AI terminology and implemented cases with Gen AI in SDLC and Data platforms.
• Familiarity with insurance core systems

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data architecture tailored to the needs of the P&C insurance business.
• Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, claims, and IT teams to translate business requirements into robust data solutions.
• Evaluate Tool & technologies, run proof of concept and propose technology options and solutions to the client.
• Lead the modernization of legacy systems and migration to cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
• Define data integration strategies across internal systems (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek) and third-party data providers (e.g., ISO, LexisNexis).
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers and analysts.
• Be a key player in transforming the data landscape, drive adoption of AI within the technical team
• Identify potential use cases for new features with tools in the marketplace for data and AI.
