Job summary

Abaka AI is seeking a Data Solutions Engineer to bridge technical execution and customer needs across AI data projects. The role sits at the intersection of solutioning, operations, and technical problem solving, supporting frontier AI companies building multimodal systems.

You will collaborate with clients, Project Managers, Operations, Research, and leadership to design scalable data workflows, scope technical requirements, and drive successful project execution in a fast-moving startup

Qualifications

• Clear communication of technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail in fast-paced settings.
• Experience bridging gaps between technical and non-technical teams.
• Interest in AI, multimodal data, and data infrastructure.
• Familiarity with SQL, Python, APIs and scripting is a plus.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand project requirements and define scalable data workflows.
• Translate customer needs into operational plans and specs.
• Support AI data projects across image, video, text and multimodal domains.
• Troubleshoot dataset quality issues and improve workflows.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Operations, Research, GTM and Engineering.
• Assist with QA, delivery validation, and project health tracking.
• Develop lightweight internal tooling and automation.
• Support presales by scoping feasibility and timelines.
• Develop understanding of frontier AI workflows and model needs.
• Contribute to documentation and process standardization.
