Position Summary

Acting as an internal consultant to business and information technology delivery teams, the Solutions Data Architect candidate will architect and design data and technology solutions that are strategic for the business and built using the latest technologies and techniques. Utilizing data engineering and technology knowledge, the candidate will play a major role in architecting custom developed and COTS integration solutions and deliver secure, reliable, resilient and scalable data management solutions. The Solutions Data Architect will have expertise in SSIS, Azure Data Services, and data integration, complemented by extensive experience in Power BI reporting integration and Salesforce integration. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of SSIS DB, Azure Managed Instance (MI), and Azure Data Factory (ADF), and will be responsible for building and optimizing data pipelines, managing cross-platform data flows, and integrating business intelligence platforms. The role also requires a solid background in data security, experience in the financial domain, and a proven ability to enhance system efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior business and IT management to develop and architect cost effective data and technology solutions that meet CIP objectives.
  • Propose recommended and/or best practices regarding the movement, manipulation, and storage of application and enterprise data.
  • Overall ownership for the data architecture and detail design.
  • Research and experiment with emerging data technologies and tools (i.e., structured and big data).
  • Lead technical discussions with internal and external (COTS Vendors) that drive decisions and implementation.
  • Provide expert support, analysis, research, and advice into exceptionally complex problems, and processes relating to the subject matter.
  • Serve as technical expert on data and software development/integration initiatives providing technical direction, interpretation and alternatives.
  • Participate in tool evaluations and technology assessment.
  • Synthesize requirements from business and produce Technical Architecture Design Document.
  • Collaborate with business units and the Business Systems Analyst to understand business requirements and provide architectural solutions that align with both functional needs and data security protocols.
  • Design and develop scalable data models, data warehouses, and pipelines to support business needs, ensuring compliance with data security and financial industry regulations.
  • Conduct thorough data analysis and profiling to ensure data quality and integrity across all systems.
  • Develop, deploy, and manage packages, utilizing SSIS DB for seamless and secure integration, particularly in financial applications.
  • Create Data Engineering solutions using SQL Server and Microsoft Data, leveraging a tech stack that includes Azure ML, ADF, Synapse, Databricks, Stream Analytics, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI, and more.
  • Serve as an Azure Data Architect, assisting in building data engineering solutions by creating frameworks, guidelines, and best practices for data engineers to utilize in their workflows.
  • Leverage ADLS, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Spark Pool, Dedicated SQL Pool, and Azure Stream Analytics to create effective data solutions, including the use of Snowflake for Data Warehousing.
  • Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF), adhering to best practices for data governance.
  • Create Data Engineering pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.
  • Integrate Power BI for secure and efficient data visualization and reporting, connecting to various data sources, including Azure and on-premises systems.
  • Drive Salesforce integration with Azure Data Services, ensuring seamless and secure data synchronization across platforms.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and indexes to ensure efficient system performance and security.
  • Conduct performance tuning extensively to optimize system efficiency, including optimizing queries and enhancing data handling.
  • Lead release management activities, participating in code reviews, QA reviews, and obtaining line-of-business approvals to ensure smooth deployments while maintaining security and regulatory compliance.
  • Create real-time dashboards based on KPIs using Power BI and any other tools for critical reporting and compliance monitoring.
  • Implement DevOps best practices across data pipelines and databases, focusing on automation and security from databases to pipeline.
  • Create Power BI dashboards and assist organizations in onboarding with Power BI, choosing appropriate licensing based on requirements.
  • Develop reusable components for error handling, logging, security, and configuration management within SSIS packages.
  • Create scripts for automation for SQL Server installation in cluster and standalone environments, implementing database mirroring for high availability.
  • Participate in technical discussions throughout project phases to ensure alignment with business goals, data security, and financial regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree preferably in Information Technology, Data engineering or Business.
  • 8 - 10 years of experience in a hands-on Technology Leadership position.
  • Experience in banking, single family and commercial lending, capital markets, insurance or asset management is considered a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of data lifecycle and application development, database design and system implementation.
  • 8-10 years of experience in a software development and data management.
  • 8-10 years of hands-on experience in Data architecture (architecture, data modeling, ETL, Data Warehousing, Data Marts, SOA).
  • 8 years of hands-on experience working with at least one programming language and related technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, SSIS Packages, and APIs.
  • 5-8 years of hands-on experience developing customer applications and/or integrating "on premise" or "cloud-based" COTS solutions.
  • 5-8 years designing and delivering mid-large scale databases in more than one Enterprise database (Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services).
  • 8 years of hands-on experience in Enterprise Data Management managing a system of record solutions, metadata and other technologies supporting Data Governance functions.
  • 8 years of hands-on experience architecting, interpreting and translating goals into technical specifications, delivering thought leadership of specific technologies and driving technology change.
  • Ability to champion an idea and bring a group to consensus.
  • Ability to set technical and information management strategy, applying an in-depth understanding of the business strategy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to understand your audience and adjust your presentation style accordingly.

Benefits

The salary range for this position is $106,559-$142,257 and is eligible for an annual incentive/commission plan.

This role is remote/hybrid/onsite and is eligible for an annual incentive.
