Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking an IT professional to provide intermediate expertise for system selection, implementation, integration, and support aligned with IT initiatives and business strategy. You will analyze functional requirements, implement changes, and ensure end-user impact is minimized while maintaining best practices across the SDLC.

The role requires 2+ years of relevant software experience, SQL and BI tool proficiency, and strong communication skills to coordinate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems or related field desired.
• Experience with Change and Release Management.
• 2+ years' experience with relevant software and development toolset.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT support for internal customers and IT staff to ensure critical business needs are met in relation to IT services and solutions.
• Analyze business functional requirements into technical specifications to ensure appropriate deployment of changes that impact the end user.
• Apply technical knowledge, skills and expertise in development and implementation methodologies to the system development lifecycle including unit testing and code review to ensure industry-established best practices are followed.
• Collaborate with business analysts to evaluate the impact of system changes introduced by customizations, interfaces, bug fixes, updates and upgrades to ensure timely, effective and efficient delivery of corporate systems.
• Ensure adequate communication is maintained regarding projects, changes, major incidents and other ITIL Processes and priorities so all invested parties are kept informed of progress.
• Resolve escalated issues and work with other team members to ensure timely resolution of production issues.
• Provide analysis around new changes, requirements or improvements to current systems to ensure efficient process handling.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation to ensure IT operations processes are efficient and effective.
• Participate in general housekeeping activities (i.e. service desk) to comply with IT operations ticket handling procedures.
• Review system and application design and change documents to ensure efficient and effective handling.
