Job summary

KeyBank seeks a Data Security Governance Manager to lead a team protecting data through governance, monitoring, encryption, and key management. The Senior Manager will mature governance, partner with tech and business teams, and drive post-quantum readiness to prepare core services for future standards.

The role will oversee HSM support, certificate lifecycle, and asset awareness while coordinating with Security Architects on a roadmap aligned to risk objectives and enterprise priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, IT, CS, Data Management, or equivalent experience.
• Experience leading information security, data security, or data governance teams.
• Strong understanding of data protection, encryption, key/certificate management, and data governance.
• Experience with enterprise security processes, risk frameworks, audits, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence stakeholders, and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Strong written and verbal communication, translating security topics for executives.
• Experience building governance metrics, procedures, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead a data security governance team responsible for monitoring, encryption key management, and certificate lifecycle governance.
• Provide direction for monitoring capabilities, alert tuning, and detection methodologies.
• Support data security posture management, defining requirements and governance expectations.
• Oversee centralized encryption key management governance, including key requests and lifecycle oversight.
• Oversee certificate lifecycle management including enrollments, renewals, and renewals.
• Govern hardware security module capabilities and key management practices.
• Drive understanding of cryptographic assets and readiness for post-quantum standards.
• Collaborate with Security Architects to align governance with enterprise priorities and future-state needs.
• Provide governance for data encryption and masking, including field-level encryption and related procedures.
• Partner with various teams to deliver data security controls and remediation activities.
• Develop governance procedures, metrics, and executive-ready updates showing control effectiveness.
• Support audits and compliance inquiries with evidence of control design and operation.
• Drive automation and process maturity for better service reliability.
