Job summary

KeyBank seeks a Data Security Governance Manager to lead a team protecting client data through enterprise governance, monitoring, encryption, key management, and cryptographic asset awareness. The role partners with technology and business teams to mature governance and prepare for post-quantum readiness.

You will guide daily operations, develop governance processes, and drive a program to understand cryptographic assets and ensure controls meet risk objectives.

Qualifications

• This role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in information security or related fields.
• Experience leading information security, data security, governance, or infrastructure security teams.
• Strong understanding of data protection, encryption, certificate and key management, and security controls.
• Experience with enterprise security processes, risk frameworks, audits, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for risk and executive audiences.
• Experience building governance materials, metrics, and service management practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a data security governance team covering monitoring, encryption key management, and HSM support.
• Direct database activity monitoring, alert tuning, and incident resolution.
• Set data protection requirements and governance expectations aligned to standards.
• Oversee encryption key management governance, including requests, lifecycle, and health monitoring.
• Manage certificate lifecycle processes and relationships with authorities.
• Provide governance for HSM capabilities and cryptographic asset management.
• Clarify cryptographic assets ownership, lifecycle, and readiness for post-quantum standards.
• Collaborate with security architects to maintain a capabilities roadmap and priorities.
• Drive data encryption and masking governance, including field-level encryption and app-level processes.
• Coordinate with Security Engineering, Cloud, Infrastructure, and business partners for controls delivery.
