Job summary

Ampcus Inc is seeking a motivated student to join our cybersecurity team in Austin. You will assist in analyzing data security incidents, support incident response, and conduct vulnerability assessments under supervision.

You will gain hands-on experience with security tools and work closely with internal teams. You will also contribute to documenting incident reports, SOPs, and security guidelines, while staying current with evolving threats and solutions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or information security.
• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to follow SOPs and organizational procedures.
• Strong interest in data security, incident response, and threat intelligence.
• Familiarity with CrowdStrike and other cybersecurity tools is preferred.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies.
• Basic understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and security concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing data security incidents with the cybersecurity team.
• Support incident response efforts including containment and evidence gathering.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend remediation measures.
• Monitor and analyze security events and logs to identify threats.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather security requirements.
• Document incident reports, SOPs, and security guidelines; generate periodic risk reports.
• Stay updated with emerging cybersecurity trends, technologies, and threats.
