Job summary

AlertMedia is seeking an IT Security Analyst to join our Information Security team in Austin, TX. This hands-on, tier one role monitors our environment for threats, investigates incidents, and supports SOC 2 and ISO certifications.

You will work daily with Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel, triage alerts, manage access reviews, and document investigations to help advance to tier two security work.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in IT security or security operations.
• Familiarity with Defender and Sentinel or equivalent SIEM/EDR tools.
• Ability to triage alerts and investigate incidents with documentation.
• Understanding of identity and access management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Defender and Sentinel to triage alerts and classify real threats.
• Perform monthly user access reviews and flag stale or over-permissioned accounts.
• Investigate phishing emails; trace headers and check threat intel.
• Contain account compromises, reset credentials, and document timelines.
• Support SOC 2 and ISO audits with evidence collection and controls documentation.
• Maintain incident records and assist in evolving security playbooks.
