Job summary

Empower FCU is seeking a Data Security Administrator in Syracuse, NY to oversee data security governance and DLP across the credit union’s networks. You will manage lifecycle controls, collaborate with IT and Compliance, and ensure accurate classification and retention policies.

You will lead Microsoft Purview operations, strengthen policies, support audits, and advise on secure AI usage, while working in a hybrid environment requiring in-office presence a minimum of five days per month.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Data Security, Governance or DLP.
• Experience with data lifecycle management and privacy controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of Microsoft Purview, including alerts and policy tuning.
• Assist with data governance, classification, retention and deletion.
• Advise on secure AI usage and risks, and training where needed.
• Assist with eDiscovery and data security investigations.
• Maintain security procedures and documentation.
