Job summary

Hudson Valley Credit Union seeks a Senior Data Protection Analyst to support the CISO in aligning data governance with security controls across the data estate. You will assess data protection risks, assist regulatory mapping (GLBA, FFIEC, NCUA Part 748, NIST, NYDFS Part 500), and ensure governance and security work together to safeguard member and institutional data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field required.
• CISSP, CompTIA Security+, SSCP, CISA, CDMP, or equivalent data protection/security certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in data security, governance, or information risk management.
• Minimum 1 year in a financial institution or regulated environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and test data protection controls across databases, data warehouses, and Databricks.
• Assess logical access controls and RBAC for least-privilege alignment.
• Review new technologies/vendors for data security posture.
• Contribute security findings to governance policy development.
• Collaborate to embed data protection in governance standards and procedures.
• Support data classification framework with consistent tagging of sensitive data.
