Position Summary
The Data Security Administrator will play a key role in evaluating IT solution architecture for compliance with internal cybersecurity policies and industry best practices. This role acts as a bridge between the cybersecurity function and broader business units, ensuring that secure design principles are embedded into enterprise systems. The position involves analyzing architecture diagrams, identifying security risks, and contributing to the development and documentation of secure technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural diagrams and system documentation to assess security posture and ensure compliance with security standards.
- Identify risks, provide recommendations, and collaborate with teams to implement security improvements.
- Partner with cybersecurity professionals to evaluate proposed IT solutions across infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments.
- Serve as a liaison between the cybersecurity team and business units, clearly communicating and documenting security requirements.
- Assist in the development, review, and approval of solution documentation outlining system components, integrations, and data flows at the port/protocol level.
- Participate in daily team standups and regular check-ins to maintain project alignment.
- Core team of approximately 8 cybersecurity professionals.
- Regular interaction with global business partners and cross-functional project teams.
- 100% remote work with optional hybrid schedule for those based in Peoria.
- Daily and weekly team meetings to ensure collaboration and transparency.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 0–2 years of experience in cybersecurity, systems architecture, or information assurance.
- High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of relevant experience also accepted.
- Candidates with advanced degrees (Master’s or Ph.D.) may be considered overqualified.
Technical Skills (Required)
- Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data security practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure and AWS) and related security controls.
- Experience with technical documentation or diagramming of IT architectures.
- Effective communication skills for stakeholder updates and technical documentation.
Technical Skills (Preferred)
- Knowledge of cloud security frameworks (e.g., Cloud Controls Matrix – CCM).
- Understanding of industry standards such as ISO 27001/27002, NIST, etc.
- Experience using Microsoft Visio or equivalent tools for architecture diagramming.
- Relevant cybersecurity coursework or certifications (please list in application).
