Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to explore data and build predictive models, applying machine learning to deliver business value. This remote role is targeted to the United States and leverages GPU processing, distributed computing, and cloud resources to solve complex problems.

The candidate will work with applied statistics, text mining, NLP, deep learning, and other data science techniques to identify meaningful patterns and provide actionable recommendations

Data Scientist, Senior

What You Will Be Doing

Perform exploratory research and analysis to identify novel and meaningful patterns in data and uses statistical methods to reject or accept proposed hypotheses about relationships or latent predictive factors discovered through their work to provide business value. Uses a combination of tools, technologies, and numerical computing systems (i.e.: GPU processing, distributed computing, highly parallel coding, cloud computing, machine learning, visualization, system modelling and simulation) to achieve results. Areas of expertise should include several of the following: applied statistics, text mining, natural language processing, deep learning, optimization, and other similar fields. Work on datasets with applied statistics and machine learning algorithms; Use exploratory data analysis techniques to identify meaningful relationships, patterns, or trends from complex data sets and discover opportunities in datasets to support decision-making; Develop predictive models and new algorithms to solve data / business problems; Understand the math and statistics behind the models and interpret, extrapolate, and prescribe from data to deliver actionable recommendations using effective visualizations

Basic Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree program (e.g. undergraduate or graduate) at an accredited university
• Adapting to changing priorities wthin a virtual environment is necessary
• Familiarity with global supply chain management principles and practices

Desired Skills

• Proficiency in Genesis, Jaycee, Windsurf/Devin, ChatGTP Desktop/CODEX, Powtoon, etc.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to process data
• Experience with project coordination or administrative support, preferably in a supply chain or logistics environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Pay Information

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.

• Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $122600.00 - $227600.00. Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
• Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $110300.00 - $204900.00. Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
• Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $98100.00 - $182100.00. Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.
• Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): $88300.00 - $163900.00. Includes metropolitan areas such as Camden, AR; Lexington, KY; Lufkin, TX; etc.
