Our work depends on a Data Scientist Senior joining our team to work on artificial intelligence solutions supporting the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

HOW THE DATA SCIENTIST SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Accelerate our work by integrating advanced AI capabilities across our suite
  • Collaborate with each of our program departments to identify ways AI solutions may assist in their work
  • Design and implement AI solutions and manage AI integration projects
  • Act as a trusted advisor on the latest AI capabilities that emerge in the marketplace
  • Assist in implementing an automated program accomplishment tracking and reporting tool, including intelligent classification systems and proactive knowledge management

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a data scientist including using AI/ML with proven track record of deploying production solutions
  • Experienced with generative AI (GenAI) using large language models (LLMs)
  • Strong foundation in machine learning, statistical analysis, and experimental design with both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Experienced in AI/ML cloud technologies one or more cloud environments
  • Experienced in forecasting, anomaly detection, clustering, and A/B testing methodologies
  • Experienced with Python data science stack (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow) and SQL
  • Strong business communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts to stakeholders and leadership and manage projects

Preferred:

  • Experience in Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), fine-tuning LLMs, and implementing agentic frameworks for specific use cases
  • Experience with ServiceNow platform integration, APIs, and enterprise system architecture
  • Background in automated content classification, metadata management, and knowledge management systems
  • Advanced data visualization and dashboard development using Python, Power BI, Tableau, ServiceNow, or QuickSight
  • Data engineering experience with ETL processes, data pipelines, and database management
  • Government contracting experience and familiarity with federal compliance requirements
  • Experience integrating AI solutions with legacy enterprise systems and orchestration platforms

The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
