Mercury Insurance is seeking a data scientist to support analytical projects, identify business opportunities, and develop data-driven solutions. You will translate business needs into research and implementation plans using data, statistics, and ML techniques.

You will work with cross-functional teams, handle large datasets, and create automated reporting and dashboards to drive business efficiency and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, computer science or related field.
• Master’s degree (ACAS/FCAS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with UW, Claims, Marketing and Advertising to understand business processes and needs.
• Perform ad-hoc analyses using statistical and machine learning methods to improve processes.
• Work independently under guidance from senior data scientists and management.
• Prepare data and build dashboards and reports to support decisions.
