Job summary

AbbVie invites a Data Scientist to join the Risk Based Quality Management Analytics team in Chicago. The role focuses on applying advanced analytics across the clinical development continuum, including machine learning and visual analytics, to drive data-driven decision making.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage statistical methods, ensure compliance with GCP/ICH, and contribute to KPI development and standard reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in statistics, analytics, bioinformatics, data science or equivalent field; Master’s degree preferred
• 2–3 years of data science and analytics experience
• Proficiency in R, Python, SQL or similar statistical packages; intermediate knowledge in statistics and data mining
• Experience with visualization tools like Spotfire, Tableau, MicroStrategy or equivalent
• Experience with Machine Learning and other advanced analytics techniques
• Excellent communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts in layman terms
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver fit-for-purpose analytics solutions
• Ensure analytical work products are consistent across projects and user experience is optimized
• Apply statistical methodologies and propose additional techniques as needed
• Enable data-driven insights to support assigned projects
• Contribute to functional innovation and process improvement initiatives
• Ensure adherence to GCP, ICH guidelines, AbbVie SOPs, and quality standards
• Identify business needs and support KPI/report and analysis creation
