Job summary

Highland Holdings seeks a data-focused analytics professional to own the data estate and deliver actionable insights for our Illinois route-gaming operations. You will merge operational data with a modern BI stack to produce dashboards and worklists that guide decisions on routing, staffing, and game performance.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on experience in forecasting, time-series analysis, geospatial modeling, and production-grade data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data science, analytics engineering, or quantitative analysis with real operational impact.
• Advanced SQL: window functions, CTEs, query tuning.
• Data modeling: schemas, grain, fact and dimension structures.
• Data warehousing: ETL/ELT pipelines, incremental loads, data quality checks.
• Data visualization with a real point of view on chart selection and encoding.
• Dashboarding and UI/UX design for reporting and mobile readability.
• Experience with BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Metabase, Sigma, Quicksight, or comparable).
• Python or R for analysis and modeling.
• Forecasting and time-series analysis.
• Geospatial analysis and routing/network optimization is a plus.
• Metric definition and governance.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data estate across locations, routing, and reporting.
• Create finished analyses with recommendations, not raw tables.
• Build dashboards integrated in the system of record for directors and executives.
• Develop prioritized worklists for operators with clear actions.
• Develop models for forecasting, routing optimization, anomaly detection, and performance.
