Job summary

Base-2 Solutions, LLC. is seeking a Data Scientist to perform research-level analytics at a customer site in Bethesda, MD.

You will contribute to advanced ML, NLP, and data fusion projects supporting national security objectives, disseminate findings, and help publish insights for actionable intelligence. You will work with data scientists, engineers, researchers, and program managers to design and deploy complex but user-friendly analytics platforms and highlight mission-relevant discoveries

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in a quantitative or analytical field with 2+ years of experience or an advanced degree.
• Experience in data science, analytics, or quantitative intelligence analysis.
• Proficiency in Python scripting.
• Experience deploying data science apps using Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift.
• Experience with Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana) and SQL.
• Experience collaborating with hybrid teams of analysts, engineers, and developers.
• Experience performing data science/research in big data not in memory.
• Active learning and creative problem solving.
• Ability to assess software/data acquisition requirements and cost-effective solutions.
• Familiarity with git or other version control tools.
• Ability to own work and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize a Data Science platform with a cross-disciplinary team.
• Analyze big data spanning national security, cybersecurity, BI, and social data.
• Support multiple projects and translate findings for non-technical audiences.
• Identify new data sources to improve predictive algorithms and user adoption.
• Apply research design, quantitative methods, and user interface considerations.
