Job summary

MBC is seeking a Mid-Level Data Scientist to support the Navy program office in the Washington, DC area. The role focuses on analytics, data modeling, NLP, and ML to transform large datasets into actionable insights. Travel domestically and internationally may be required.

Qualifications include 5+ years in data analytics for Navy offices, DoD SECRET clearance eligibility, and a Bachelor's in a relevant field. Excellent communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Eligibility to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in math, science, engineering, or related field from a U.S. accredited institution.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally using a credit card or prepaid debit card as required.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Mid-Level Data Scientist located in the Washington, D.C. area.

What you’ll do:

The Mid-Level Data Scientist will provide data analytics support to D PAE Maritime/SEA 21, the U.S. Navy's program office for Surface Ship Modernization and Sustainment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.
  • Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Visualize, interpret, and report data findings by creating dynamic data reports.
  • Plan internal and external engagements, including meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Assist in the development of briefing material and drafting documents in accordance with Navy Correspondence Manual guidelines.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and execute data calls to gather inputs from both internal and external stakeholders. Consolidate and communicate information from data calls to government leadership for further action.
  • Evaluate operational deficiencies, recommend improvements, and coordinate their implementation
  • Transcribe and summarize meeting minutes and notes and assist inthe preparation and closure of action items
  • Assist in the scheduling of appointments in support of Government customer, the coordination of arrangements for meetings and conferences, and the arrangement of travel reservations and accommodations
  • Attend meetings and program reviews, assist with compiling presentations, written materials, and/or electronic communications as required
  • Travel domestically and internationally, provide in-person support at MBC and client sites, and obtain and maintain professional certifications and security clearances as required by MBC and/or MBC's clients. These requirements are subject to change without advance notice at the discretion of MBC and MBC's clients
