Job summary

IEX/GDIT at Ft. Bragg, NC seeks a Data Scientist-Mid to support USASOC data initiatives, building data-driven solutions and predictive models for defense programs. You will collaborate with stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights and may mentor junior staff.

Requirements include a DoD TS/SCI clearance, 5–8 years of experience, a Bachelor’s in a related field, and on-site work five days a week. US citizenship is required for this role.

• Certifications: None required; cloud or ML-related certifications preferred.
• Role requirements: On-Site 5 days
• Citizenship: US Citizens only

JOB DESCRIPTION

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

The Data Scientist-Mid will support Defense & Intelligence Programs at U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) located at Ft. Bragg, NC which supports the broader U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Intelligence Data Science Team efforts.

JOB DUTIES (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO)

• Contribute to completion of specific programs and projects.
• Develop data-driven solutions to complex business challenges.
• Utilizes advanced tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict, and make discoveries in data.
• Evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and gathering techniques.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Proficiency in Python and Bash, including API development and data manipulation.
• Familiarity with SQL and large-scale systems such as PostgreSQL, Hive, or Trino.
• Basic understanding of ML concepts and familiarity with Flask or FastAPI.

The likely salary range for this position is $109,403 - $148,017. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
