Job summary

Lyft Urban Solutions is seeking a Data Scientist to inform decision-making across micromobility operations. You will frame problems, perform exploratory analyses, and build numerical models to guide planning and operations at scale.

The role requires collaboration with engineers, product managers, and business partners in a fast-paced environment. With 5–10 years of advanced experience, you will work on statistical and simulation models, analytics, and mapping to optimize operations.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Statistics, OR, Math, CS, Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in a technology or transportation/logistics setting with modeling.
• End-to-end data experience: SQL querying, aggregation, analysis, and visualization.
• Proficiency with Python for exploration, modeling, and decision support.

Responsibilities

• Frame problems mathematically and within business context with engineers and PMs.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to understand the problem deeply.
• Develop, calibrate, and leverage numerical models (statistical, simulation).
• Collaborate with Software Engineers to refine and deploy algorithms in production; design experiments.
• Analyze data, communicate findings, and guide feature and spending decisions.
