Role Description

We seek an experienced Data Scientist to join our Audio Technology team. The role involves developing and optimizing audio experiences across Apple’s consumer electronics portfolio, analyzing complex datasets to enhance sound quality, noise cancellation, voice recognition, and acoustic performance. You will work at the intersection of audio engineering, machine learning, and user experience, collaborating with engineers and leadership to drive ML innovation and data-driven product decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large, complex datasets to define problems, gather data, perform exploratory analysis, hypothesis testing, and communicate insights.
• Prototype and deploy analytical pipelines to provide scalable insights.
• Develop knowledge of audio data structures and pipelines, advocating for improvements where necessary.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to assess improvements and make data-driven recommendations for audio products.
• Build and maintain audio analytics dashboards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong expertise in applying ML to user behavior data and system telemetry for insights and predictions.
• Proficiency in data visualization and storytelling using tools like Plotly, Tableau, or similar.
• Experience with Python, SQL, and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Proven track record in user behavior analysis, performance monitoring, anomaly detection, feature analytics, A/B testing, and time series forecasting.
• Experience developing ETL pipelines and working with production logging systems.
• Ability to communicate complex insights effectively across teams.
• BSc degree in Engineering, Statistics, Physics, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Splunk or similar monitoring tools.
• Experience with distributed systems like Cassandra, Spark, Airflow.
• Previous experience in the audio domain and passion for audio or digital signal processing.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
