Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist within Cat Digital's Analytics & Applied AI group to advance diagnostics and value extraction from digital products and services.

You will blend independent work with collaboration, applying ML, NLP, and statistical methods to optimize outcomes for customers and dealers worldwide. Strong communication and initiative are essential for success in an agile setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of technical data science experience or a Master’s with 3+ years.
• Proven experience using Python for data analysis and modeling (Jupyter Notebooks).
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and version control (Git).
• Cloud computing experience (AWS, Snowflake) and building production analytics solutions.
• Experience with ML modeling, NLP, and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical individual contributor on a small analytics team.
• Lead specific tasks within projects while collaborating with teammates.
• Apply data cleaning, analysis and modeling to business problems.
• Use ML, statistical modeling and causal inference to generate business value.
• Communicate results to leaders and partners clearly.
• Work in an Agile environment and contribute to API development.
