Caterpillar is seeking a Data Scientist for Cat Digital's Analytics & Applied AI team to tackle business challenges with advanced analytical methods. You will collaborate with global service and product teams to maximize value from digital products and services, working with oils data, dealer and equipment information.

The role requires strong technical and communication skills, independence, and a drive to innovate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of data science experience or a Master's with 3+ years in statistics, applied mathematics, data science, analytics, engineering or computer science.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and modeling, including Jupyter Notebooks.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud computing (AWS, Snowflake).
• Experience developing predictive/prescriptive analytics and machine learning models.
• Strong communication skills to explain results to technical leaders and business partners.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical contributor on a small analytics team under the project leader.
• Balance independent work with collaboration to lead specific tasks.
• Leverage data cleaning, analysis and preparation to extract meaningful patterns.
• Apply ML, statistical modeling and causal inference to gain insights and value.
• Familiarize with company processes, products, governance and organization.
• Communicate findings effectively to leadership and partners; adapt solutions as needed.
