The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in collaboration with Scottish Rite for Children is seeking a Data Scientist to join a newly established Multidisciplinary Orthopaedic data Science and Artificial Intelligence Center (MOSAIC) focused on advancing the application of machine learning in musculoskeletal medicine.
This interdisciplinary research initiative brings together orthopaedic surgeons, engineers, and data scientists to develop novel artificial intelligence tools that improve diagnosis, surgical decision-making, and clinical outcomes in orthopaedics. The center focuses on emerging areas including computer vision for medical imaging and surgical video, large language models for clinical text, and multimodal machine learning integrating imaging and electronic health record data.
The successful candidate will work closely with clinicians and researchers to develop AI models using large-scale musculoskeletal datasets including radiologic imaging, electronic health record data, and orthopaedic registries.
