Job summary

Amazon's AFT Science team in Bellevue, WA seeks a Data Scientist II to help design, build and deploy optimization, simulation and ML solutions for the Fulfillment Network. You will partner with scientists, engineers, PMs, and ops leaders to impact labor planning, demand prioritization and routing at scale.

The role requires 3+ years in data science with strong SQL/Python skills, ability to work with large datasets, and experience delivering production-grade models and measurable results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field, or Master's degree.
• 3+ years of data querying languages (SQL) or scripting languages (Python) experience.
• 3+ years of ML/statistical modeling data analysis experience.
• Experience processing, filtering, and presenting large datasets (hundreds of millions/billions of rows).
• Experience with forecasting and statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct rigorous experimental design for production pilots to evaluate solutions.
• Lead end-to-end lifecycle of forecasting models, from research to production rollout.
• Develop and deploy production-grade ML and statistical models using Python, Scala, SQL.
• Perform large-scale exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns and opportunities.
• Translate complex findings into clear insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to Amazon's scientific community through collaboration and presentations.
