Job summary

Socure is seeking a Data Scientist II to join our Digital Intelligence team. You will develop machine learning features, analytical methods, and production-focused risk signals using device, network, browser, mobile, API, session, and behavioral telemetry.

This hands-on role requires delivering scoped projects, working with noisy data, and partnering with engineering, product, and risk teams to improve fraud detection and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in CS/ML/Statistics or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in data science, ML, analytics engineering, or related technical role.
• Proven experience building and improving ML models and features.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with large-scale datasets.
• Proficiency in Python and data science libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, XGBoost, TF/PyTorch).
• Experience with distributed processing tools like Spark or Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Develop ML features, models, and analytical methods for device, network, browser, and behavioral telemetry.
• Tackle scoped fraud and identity risk problems with high data quality and telemetry coverage.
• Build features from large-scale, high-cardinality, noisy telemetry data.
• Analyze signal patterns such as spoofing, emulator behavior, proxies, and fragmentation.
• Design validation analyses, including train/test splits, drift checks, and impact analysis.
• Use supervised, unsupervised, statistical, and heuristic approaches to detect durable risk signals.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, risk, and platform teams for production rollout.
• Contribute to model documentation, feature definitions, and explainability materials.
• Communicate methods and results clearly to technical and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Support junior data scientists through code review and guidance.
