Scribd, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist II to design and deploy ML systems at scale. You will work with the Applied Research team to build models for content enrichment, recommendations and search across huge data sets.

You will collaborate with ML Engineers, Data Engineers and Product to deliver end-to-end AI solutions. The role emphasizes simplicity, end-to-end visibility and impact, with a focus on language models, large-scale data processing and clear stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of post-qualification experience developing ML models at scale.
• Proficiency in Python and building ML pipelines.
• Experience with distributed data processing frameworks like Spark or Databricks.
• Experience with at least three of: NLP, information retrieval, deep learning or generative models.
• Proficiency with SQL or PySpark and strong quantitative background.

Responsibilities

• Focus on content classification use cases using NLP, LLMs and generative models.
• Investigate scalable methods to solve challenging problems at Scribd.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, ML Engineers and ML Data Engineers.
• Utilize Scikit-learn, NumPy, PyTorch and external LLM APIs as needed.
• Process large data with Python, SQL and Spark; document approaches and results clearly.
• Communicate with stakeholders on methods and outcomes.
