Job summary

MSM Technology seeks a Data Scientist to support the Department of State's PRM with data analysis, statistical modeling, visualization, and reporting. The role involves analyzing large datasets, developing dashboards, and standardizing programmatic and financial reporting.

You will collaborate with DOS stakeholders to define analytical requirements and communicate findings to both technical and nontechnical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in statistics, computer science, mathematics, data science, information systems, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years, 5 years preferred in data science, data analysis, or statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL.
• Experience with large/complex datasets and analytical models.
• Experience with data visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau).

Responsibilities

• Perform data analysis and visualization to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify questions and develop data-driven solutions.
• Standardize, manage, analyze, and visualize programmatic and financial reporting within a centralized database and dashboard environment.
• Support unified data-driven understanding of global populations using public data and dashboards.
• Communicate analytical findings to government officials, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain data management systems, databases, data dictionaries, dashboards, and documentation.
• Support other priority data analytics and reporting requirements identified by DOS and PRM.
• Apply data management best practices related to data quality, governance, security, privacy, and documentation.
