Job summary

Amazon GFP's Fleet Planning team is seeking a Data Scientist to optimize fleet allocation for US programs, including Middle and Last Mile. You will build linear, statistical, and ML models to improve capacity usage and drive value across planning, procurement, and deployment.

Responsibilities include creating scalable models, partnering with cross-functional teams, and presenting insights to senior leadership. The role requires strong SQL/Python, and experience with data visualization tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with data querying languages (SQL) or scripting languages (Python) or statistical software (R/SAS/Matlab).
• Master's degree in OR / applied math / theoretical CS, or equivalent experience applying scientific principles to business problems.

Responsibilities

• Build models and automation for planners to generate vehicle allocation plans.
• Partner with program teams to test and measure model success.
• Lead reviews with senior leadership, explain model outputs and implications.
